Testing cupcakes by post

If you’ve been following us on Facebook (if not why not?!) you will have seen some posts about our testing cupcakes by post.

Over the weekend we changed the way we bake our cupcakes to go into our cupcakes by post mailing boxes.

Today we did another test, we baked cupcakes to our new plan, iced them, boxed them up and then threw them around the kitchen.

This sounds a bit harsh but we wanted to check how they would look after being given to Royal Mail for delivery. We’re not saying for one moment that the staff at Royal Mail go out to damage our cupcakes, just that sending them by post from Aberdeenshire they are going to be moved from places to place, delivery van to delivery van, bumped, knocked, stacked and sorted before arriving at their destinations.

We were suitably impressed that after being carried around upside down, dropped on to the table and chucked between me and Mike, in our kitchen test, that the cakes were still looking good!

So to continue the test, our three boxes of cupcakes have been posted to some people in England, Scotland and Wales.

So if you get a box that looks something like this,

with Tuesday mornings post, take some pictures of the contents and post them on our Facebook page for us to look at.

We hope you enjoy the cakes.

If you don’t get a box in the post tomorrow, we’re sorry, we’re picking people at random from our address book, so maybe next time ????

If you’re not in our address book, liking Florence & May on Facebook is a good way to be in with getting a test box of cakes. Hopefully we’ll be able to start taking orders for delivery in January.

About Samantha

I've been baking as long as I can remember, starting with my nana May, when I was very small. I bake the traditional way, with fresh, natural products and ingredients. I try to use local ingredients as much as possible. I like to add a modern twist to my cakes, Gin & Tonic or Whisky cupcakes anyone?
